The main competition was DOTA theme cosplay, but beside that … they also had anime/game/manga/tokusatsu and original design cosplay competition
I think it’s quite fun, and I’ve met some new nice cosplayers, glad to know them anyway…
And I’m happy also that we can go to an Indonesian cosplay event with Vien, yeah… Vien being mocked so bad in cosplay community, makes her lost her passion into cosplay… and worst, her passion for photography also…
We already came for AFA and had a great fun there, but Vien? She cannot come to AFA because of her thesis matters… so at least we want to make her a bit happy with local cosplay event~
That is one of the reasons for us to accepted Alienware’s offer becoming their judge, I hope peaceful days will come back to Indonesian cosplay community though I think it’s quite impossible now… but at least we already tried doing our best to make it come back …

Nothing merrier for me than hang out with my true friends in a peaceful place…
I've heard from Vien that some cosplayers dumped their friends, when their friends quit cosplaying ... Well, I said to Vien, I had pity on them, I mean it's so funny, your friend quit cosplay and then you dumped him/her? ...
Cosplay isn't something long lasting, someday you too going to retired from this hobby, in the day you lost your cosplay, what will stays along with you? your costume? your wig? your fame? your photos? No... it is all will fade away, the only thing will last forever is "your friendship you've got through cosplay"
If now you dumped that... than... I think you did a stupid things for dump something important...

Now, my story… start from Day 1 in Singapore~
~ Singapore, November 19th 2009 ~
We’re arrived in Singapore around 11PM if I’m not mistaken, we was the last finalist arrived there … AFA helper named Kie and Serene picked us up from airport~
And we spent a whole night at our rooms … fixed some of our broken stuff … sob … Because Joe ( another AFA helper ) told us that we’re going to have an interview with Animax tomorrow… And we must display our cosplay props for this interview… >___< …
So yeah … we instantly fixed it and displayed it at our room… like this …

Started our day with breakfast~
We also had a bit walked around the hotel, this hotel had a unique swimming pool~ …
But we’re not interested to swim there … How embarrassing… if you swim there, everyone whom sited in lobby can easily seeing you like seeing fishes in aquarium… lol …
And yeah… Terrorism is REAL!! Even Indonesian cosplay community got terrorist team also whom like to terrorizing us all … ( Thanks God they didn’t come for AFA, or they ruined our fun ... )

Alodia and Ashley from Philippines is the first pair we’ve met, I’m so excited cause I already know Alodia and Ashley before from their DA and Multiply, if usually I only can starring at their photos and videos, now they popped out in front of me… I almost cannot believe it …
I’m so lucky to be chosen as AFA finalist anyway…
IMHO, Alodia and Ashley are prettier IRL than photos, if you don’t believe me then you should meet them IRL also and you’ll definitely believe on me…
And they are very nice and friendly, not just them but also their parents… Mr&Mrs. Gosiengfiao are the most kind and friendly couple we’ve ever met, they even chat with us and told us they ever visited Indonesia before for their honey moon … We’re so glad to know them all…
Second pair we’ve met are from Malaysia, Sizer and Masako, they are so bright and funny and if you had them with you, you won’t get bored... We miss them already, it was so fun to know them both…
And last pair we’ve met, from Thailand, Yolk and DK… this pair are super cuteeeeeeeeeeeeeee … I really want to pinches their cheeks and kidnap them to home…
Oh yeah~ So Cool~
After a short introducing to each other, we got our shoot with Animax… Sizer and Masako are the first~

{ After the Animax guys left, I had a chat with Orochi, I told Orochi I’m very happy today, and Orochi feels the same also … }
{ So long we had avoid cosplay community, we even already forgot how fun cosplay events was, cause we think it’s now a chaos and not comfortable for us anymore, Orochi ever said to me … better if we retired faster cause the more we cosplaying… the more terrorist team mocking us… }
{ But after we came for AFA and met others, it’s like we’ve found our lost paradise … and we are very happy with it, at least it opened our eyes that nice people still exist in cosplay community }
{ And if before we ever swore … we won’t search for true friends in cosplay community, because all we will got only shitty two faced hypocrite people around… Now?? I’m taking back my words… }

We’re not feeling well on this day, we cannot sleep a whole night and cannot even eat our breakfast also…
We are very nervous, we’re afraid we cannot do our skit well, because to be honest, we was rushing our costume till we was able to practicing our skit only 3 days before our flight to Singapore and we’re really not sure we can do it good enough on stage without embarrassing our self and our country… sob…
I was keep praying this competition end fast and we all can go eat ice cream and have beautiful sleep and… and… stalking taking photos with Kaname …
*I’m telling you that we’re not good on competition because we’re definitely not such a competitive type …
*We even … err… actually we don’t like competition…, but we must join this AFA for the sake of our country’s cosplay community, we want to protecting our country’s good name, and build a good relationship with cosplayers from other countries (that is almost ruined by flamer terrorist) … …
*I hope other countries still have a good impression towards Indonesia after that flaming incident … Mostly our country’s cosplayers are nice and friendly, it just some cosplay terrorist whom behave that horrible… …

About our performance… well... it was all MESSED UP … I wanna cry …
FYI, our costumes are designed for private photo shoot only ( since we already avoid cosplay events and competitions for years ), so that we never considering about it will be comfortable to be wear or not, we just concentrate to make it as accurate as possible …
And yeah, it does make us hard to move around when we’re wearing that lolz…
*Despite that all… thanks God we’re not getting fainted there, Orochi’s wings are quite heavy and Orochi’s armors are tight, last private shoot … Orochi almost faited because of dehydration …
*We should consider making more comfortable armor to be wearing next time…
Okay, more on our performance … first … Orochi’s shoulder’s armor fells down, I was like “Haha gotcha ~ “ ( I’m kidding Orochi, I was panic … )
Ah but I think it’s still okay, Orochi can pretend I successfully hit the Kamael, so it fells off … no prob!
Then, something worst happen… during our battle scene … MY SKIRT RIPPED OFF!!!! I was like OH MY GOD!!!! … I’m gonna die if my skirt feels off on stage…!!!!
What should I pretend? The Kamael is so pervert that he strike my skirt until it’s ripped off?? My hot pants really pretty and it was sponsored by local brand so that I must show it off on stage? Or we want to impress Kaname with this semi hentai ripped skirt stuff? I’m (again) very lucky it wasn’t happen …
To be honest I can’t concentrate to hear what Kaname was talking about after our performance cause in my mind I’m keep screaming “OMG, Kaname… faster… faster… I need to go back to backstage and fixing my ripped skirt >___< …”
And after performance I feels like “I’m FREEEEEEEEEE… these all ended” Yay~ yay~
Oh but it wasn’t ended that fast, we still need to go on stage one more time for winner announcement …

Afer the announcement … Kie guarding us back to our backstage, we quickly changed our costumes into ordinary clothes, I’m having a bit liver pain that time so I took a rest for a while on backstage…
It’s wasn’t take a long time to be recovered, I quickly go outside once I feels good enough… what for?? Looking for Kaname of course hehehe…

I can say this is the craziest costume I’ve ever made … But not because of the design or difficulty, it’s all because of very limited time I had to finish it…
I almost getting sick and crazy, I never ever made any armored costume for only 1,5 months… it’s totally insane!!! Usually we need a minimal of 3 months to finished one…
I only sleep less than 4 hours everyday, of course not going anywhere on weekend… my face already look like Ju-On ghost more that Elf … sob …
But through the crazy and miserable times, I always had Orochi beside me and helping me, thank you honey …
The final result makes me want to cry … I’m stressed …
We missed a bunch of details and it’s not as accurate as we’ve targeted before…
This is an important lesson … never make your costume in rush, you will be so depressed to see the final result …
*I considering a remake for some part after AFA ended
Ah well, whatever … I’m still proud of my works though it’s not perfect… I just go with it, and here the photos from photoshoot :

If you don’t know yet about what kind of place Berastagi is …
Berastagi is like Puncak in Jakarta, people like to come there for refreshing and have fun with friends or family~

♣Well, to be honest, I feels so happy that now I finally got my cosplay passion back, to see these people’s smile, means that at least our costume works can make other people happy…
You know, since around 3 years ago, I slowly lost my passion into cosplay cause… I think it’s like our costume works only makes other cosplayers who are attention seeker or movie star wannabe getting mad and hates us for keep making costume, dunno why…
But as I already mentioned before, those people smile sure makes my cosplay passion slowly comes back… So yeah, I think I’ll cosplaying to makes other people like them happy instead to satisfied my own self~
♣I really didn’t mind to be labeled as ‘Clown’ okie? It’s very OKAY for me, because you know that Clown makes people laugh, laugh means they are happy right? (please exclude clowns from horror movies) … It’s rather for me being a clown then terrorist, terrorist makes other people sad and suffering…
♣ After quite a long time, I’m happy to heard honest compliments from people around … thank you so much for appreciating our works…
Usually I only got honest compliments from Vienni and a few true friends of mine… the rest? The rest is just fake compliments from majority of Indonesian cosplayers that for me are just some kind of disgusting two facedwhom want to ‘used’ us only …
♣ And we also got a lot of nice friends here... I mean real friends ... a long time ago, cosplay can make yourself getting more friends and acquittance, well it WAS... some years lately I even swore to myself, never wish for a friend from Indonesian cosplay community, all you will got only two faced hypocrite people around... Of course I still found some nice Indo cosplayers to befriend with these late years but it's only a few of them whom still cosplaying for fun, don't ask me the rest...
